Apprentice Electrician

We are hiring a full-time Apprentice Electrician to join our small team  


Start date: Immediately (or as soon as possible) 

Salary: $19.50 to $31.20 per hour (based on Journeyperson rate of $39 per hour)

**Please note: we will not consider accepting applications with an industrial background. If your experience has been in the industrial field only, then the nature of this role will not be a good fit for you.

  • Has strong mechanical skills and background
  • Has excellent problem-solving skills 
  • Possesses good technical knowledge – can confidently work on a computer or an app 
  • Is responsible and committed 
  • Takes pride in their work 
  • Is neat – we go into people’s homes and businesses and treat them as we’d treat our own homes 
  • Cares about a professional image - clean truck, tools, professional appearance • Is strategic in their thinking – always plans for the next step  
  • Is punctual 
  • Is eager to learn, open-minded 


Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of current code 
  • All safety tickets up to date 
  • Clean drivers abstract 
  • Reliable vehicle 
  • Own PPE (personal protective equipment) 
  • Troubleshooting skills and experience  
  • Fire alarm experience (not essential but considered an asset)
  • HVAC control wiring (not essential but considered an asset)  


About the position: 

This full-time position requires an Apprentice Electrician with a varied experience and knowledge to serve our diverse customers. Tofield Electric operates from Tofield Alberta and services the County of Strathcona, and the greater Edmonton area. Applicants must be willing and able to easily get to these locations regularly. 


Tasks you’ll be completing in this role include: 

  • Commercial tenants build out and improvements 
  • Large custom home wiring 
  • Large home renovations 
  • Design builds  


Re: Covid-19 situation – although restrictions are eased, we will supply masks, gloves and sanitizer if required and it is expected that you are willing to wear a mask inside a home or business if the customer deems necessary.

  • Knowledge of current code
